MCH to assist FBI with sweatsuits for victims of human trafficking

Human Trafficking is a growing problem in our world.  Many people think modern day slavery is only found in third world countries.  In fact, slavery is on the rise in the United States.  Slavery is the 3rd largest industry behind drugs and weapons.  Houston is one of the largest portals for trafficking in this country.  What can we do?  MCH is partnering with CAHT (Coalition Against Human Trafficking) to provide the FBI with new sweatsuits for victims that are rescued from this horrendous crime.  When FBI agents rescue women and girls from the sex slave trade, they are often in poor physical condition; wearing only the clothes their trader has provided for them.  These clothes are often degrading and filthy.  In the first few hours of a rescue, agents often have to detain the victims to begin processing their information.  They may spend hours and days in these same filthy clothes.

MCH is joining with CAHT (Coalition Against Human Trafficking) by collecting new sweatpants, sweatshirts, underclothes and flip-flops for these victims.  The following sizes are needed:

Sweatshirts:  Small & Medium Women’s Sizes
Sweatpants:  Small & Medium Women’s Sizes
Underclothes:  Sizes 5-7
Flip-flops:  Sizes Small, Medium & Large

Items can be delivered to Gano Mission Center (1815 Gano Street, Houston, TX 77009) anytime Monday – Thursday between 9 am – 5 pm (except lunch 12 pm -1 pm).  For more information, contact info@missioncenters.org.
