Christian Women's Job Corps is a program where women in need are equipped for life and employment through job readiness, computer classes, Bible studies, GED preparation, nutrition classes, money management and more.
This program helps women with a "hands-up" instead of a "hand-out". Women are paired with a mentor who helps them throughout the 10-week class and then an additional 6 months beyond the program. During the 10-week semester, women attend classes for 4 days a week and learn skills related to nutrition, computer skills, English grammar, GED preparation, money management and Bible study.
CWJC is a highly successful program. Women must make a commitment to attend all classes and have a great network of accountability throughout the class. They are encouraged to write personal mission statements and involve their families in their progress. Volunteers are needed to mentor, teach, provide materials, food and offer childcare.
