What is 1 in 1,000?
One in a Thousand is a fundraising campaign designed to establish consistent donations for Mission Centers of Houston. With the economy negatively impacting charitable giving, One in a Thousand was created to encourage regular donations from individuals. One in a Thousand will help us establish a stable, more economically secure funding base.

How Does it Work?
Mission Centers of Houston is seeking 1,000 individuals who will give a monthly financial gift to the ministry. The individual is asked to make a commitment of any dollar amount ($10, $25, $50, $75, $100 or more) and continue to give it for 12 months.

Will $25 Really Help?
Yes! If 1,000 people gave $10 each month, MCH would receive $10,000 each month. If 1,000 people gave $25 each month, MCH would receive $25,000 each month! If 1,000 people gave $100 each month, MCH would receive $100,000 each month!! Your gift matters!

How Much Does MCH Need?
MCH’s 2012 budget is $921,000. This represents the entire budget for 3 mission centers and the Mildred McWhorter Missionary Building. The MCH administration is frugal and has proven to be good stewards of the generous donations given on behalf of the ministry. In fact, MCH utilizes hundreds of volunteers each year. In 2009, volunteer hours equalled the work of 5 full-time staff members!

Where Does MCH's Money Come From?
MCH receives money from churches, groups, individuals, corporations, grants and fundraisers. Churches and individuals account for the largest donations. In a year’s time, gifts from churches have decreased by over 50% and gifts from individuals have decreased by 72%. The economy has caused an urgent and
critical need for consistent donations. In the past 10 years, the donations to MCH have never been this inconsistent.
