Jeff joined Mission Centers of Houston in 2016. He is responsible for providing the overall leadership, guidance, and vision for the organization. He is the main point of contact and liaison between Mission Centers and various ministry and business partners. Prior to entering full-time ministry in 2003, Jeff worked for over 20 years as a petroleum engineer in various staff, management, and executive leadership positions. Since then he has served in various pastoral positions relating to missions and outreach, most recently church planting in an urban context. He has an M.S. in petroleum engineering from West Virginia University and a M.A. in religion from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary.
Director of Missionary Training, Kids, and Volunteer Ministries
Cheryl has served as Director of Children’s Ministries in various churches for more than 20 years and also with the SBC of Virginia. She enjoys sharing the love of Jesus with the children in our communities and also with her three grandchildren. Cheryl is very grateful and humbled to be a part of this ministry that has transformed lives for over five decades in the inner city of Houston.
Alyssa is the newest member on the Mission Centers of Houston Team, joining in June of 2018. Prior to Mission Centers of Houston, Alyssa worked for Cigna as a Health Educator for the City of Houston. Although she grew up in Houston, it was while working at the City of Houston God gave her a heart for this city and called her into full time ministry. She is passionate about God’s children and using her gifts to make Christ’s Kingdom known. She is currently working on her Masters in Christian Ministry at Truett Seminary.
Network Director, NE Houston Disaster Recovery Network
Jim joined Mission Centers of Houston in early 2018 to become the Network Director of NE Houston Disaster Recovery, a new division of Mission Centers. His task is to mobilize churches, organizations, and individuals to work together reaching the people of NE Houston who still need help recovering from hurricane Harvey.
Jim comes to us with over 25 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, most of those years as national VP of sales. He has served as a lay pastor, ordained in 1995 at Concho Baptist church, Concho AZ and is currently enrolled in Baylor’s Truett Seminary on-line, studying pastoral ministry.
Director, Gano Mission Center
Dora has been with Mission Centers of Houston since 1995. She has served in various capacities at all three Mission Center locations. Dora has a sincere love for the neighbors of Gano Mission Center. She is especially talented in working with women and families. She is active in her church and community.
Ministry Associate – Northside Area, Gano Mission Center
Nick served at Mission Centers of Houston as a summer missionary in 2015 as part of the Gano Mission team, and as a Summer Missionary Resident Assistant in 2017. He is now serving full time as part of our ministry team and has plans to enroll in seminary next year.
Area Missionary, Greater East End
Noe is a native Houstonian who first started working with Mission Centers of Houston in 2001 as a summer missionary. In 2003, he met his wife Vanessa as they co-labored working at the Fletcher Mission Center. Noe and Vanessa returned from 2009-2014 to serve, live, and raise their growing family at the Fletcher Center. God has recently called the Ortiz family back to Mission Centers to serve in Houston’s Greater East End and the Joy Mission Center. Noe enjoys basketball, hip-hop, and discipling youth.
Director, Joy Mission Center
Vanessa first started working with Mission Centers of Houston in 2003 as a summer missionary, where she met her husband, Noe, and became passionate about sharing the gospel. She and her husband came back to Mission Centers from 2009 to 2014 to serve, live, and raise their growing family at the Fletcher Center. God has recently called Vanessa, Noe, and their family back to Mission Centers to serve in Houston’s Greater East End and the Joy Mission Center.
VISTA, Development and Communications
Shiretta’s goal is to innovate and make a difference in the community. Prior to joining Mission Centers, Shiretta worked as an Operations Facilitator in the time-share/travel club industry. She has an AA in mass communications and liberal arts and is using her skill for the Kingdom of God.
