photoMission Centers of Houston is excited to announce the addition of our newest staff member, Craig Taylor. Coming on board as associate director, Taylor’s strongly relational background in pastoral leadership and college ministry will provide a further strengthening of Mission Centers’ leadership structure, notes executive director, Ginger Smith. Many of Taylor’s responsibilities will revolve around providing additional support and leadership for the staff at Mission Centers of Houston, allowing for greater efficiency in the planning, supervising and implementing of programmatic growth. He will also serve as the primary contact for volunteer groups, a natural fit with Taylor’s lifelong passion for connecting individuals with Christ-centered service opportunities, and will be overseeing our Global Footprints program in an easy facilitation of greater opportunities to walk alongside of students seeking to discover God’s will for their lives.

“God has been preparing me for this position for the past 30 years,” Taylor shared. “It’s a combination of what I love most about pastoral ministry which is people — investing in people — and this is a chance to invest in all sorts of people: staff, volunteers, the folks we’re serving, and so on.  God has been doing this great work in my heart for ministry outside of the box, whether that’s inner city or overseas, so when the opportunity to join the staff at Mission Centers of Houston came along, it was time to take that work He was already doing in my heart and have it become my daily life on the path God is leading me on. It’s in a new and completely different setting but,” Taylor paused, then continued with undeniably contagious enthusiasm, “it makes my heart beat fast.”

Outside of his responsibilities as associate director, Taylor is an admittedly “rabid” fan of all Baylor sports, the Houston Astros, music and his family. “I’m so crazy about my wife, I can’t even tell you…!” stated Taylor when describing his family. He and his wife are the proud parents of two adult children, one of whom is a sophomore in college and the other of whom is pursuing a grad degree.

For all things volunteer-related, to discuss ministry possibilities or simply to exchange life stories, Craig Taylor can best be reached in person at our Mildred McWhorter Missionary Building or by email at [email protected].
