Announcing our new wristbands for Summer 2020

All of our staff, summer missionaries, weekly summer youth group missionaries and other volunteers will receive one these custom printed gel bands (courtesy of RapidWristbands.com) to remind us of our theme for the summer: “A.E.D.”.  The letters are an abbreviation for “Assist. Empower.Develop” which, in a nutshell, is the process that Mission Centers of Houston follows in our mission work.  It’s based on John 10:10, which says, “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly” (ESV).  Rapid Wristbands did a fantastic job with the wristbands.  Thank you for blessing us!  If you want to get involved in serving this summer or to provide a meal for our 12 summer missionaries please contact Cheryl Chadwick at cheryl@missioncenters.org

I met Dennis about 4 years ago.  He and his wife Felicia were homeless, and every couple of days they came to the Gano Center in need of food and basic necessities.  They lived in their car, were both unemployed, and Felicia had a severe drug addiction.  But I was always impressed by the way Dennis cared for and loved her despite her addiction.

The Gano Mission Center staff was ecstatic when Pastor Chris Hall from Houston Northwest Church (HNW) called about a year ago to offer us the use of their  shower/laundry disaster recovery trailer.  They purchased it in response to Hurricane Harvey, but now they wanted to see it used when not deployed to a disaster site to help the homeless in Houston.
