Named after ‘Miss Mac’, the founding missionary and director who served for over 30 years, the Mildred McWhorter Missionary Building was constructed in 2007 to house Mission Centers of Houston’s administrative offices and missionary residences. The building is located at the same location as the Gano Mission Center. It is the primary location where donations are received (Mon – Fri, 9 am to 5 pm).

The first floor of the building is comprised of office space, a conference room, and a kitchen and dining area for use by missionary groups and interns. The second floor is dedicated as missionary intern residential space. There are 20 beds in the women’s dorm and 10 beds in the men’s dorm. Both are equipped with their own showers and bathrooms. There is also a laundry area and a fully equipped lounge area that offers interns a place to enjoy community time together. In addition to these living facilities are three private rooms with their own bathrooms. These rooms are reserved for interns who serve for a semester or longer, and for residential assistants who oversee our summer missionary intern program.

The missionary residential dorms are used mainly during June and July every year to house student interns participating in the Global Footprint program. During other months these dorms may be available to visiting adult and family mission groups. We also use our Gano and Joy Mission Centers for larger groups and student groups.
