Empowering middle and high school students to live out their Christian faith.

We build a safe, Christ-centered community around middle and high school students by offering a loving environment geared to empower them with dignity and hope. We want to see youth grow into Christian men and women who walk with Christ daily in their families, jobs, and neighborhoods.

Our programs are offered in Houston, Texas and include:

Youth Clubs

Fun-filled programs incorporating recreation, games, Bible teaching and special seasonal activities

Summer Interns

An immersive mission experience where selected youth who are regular attenders serve alongside our center staff for 4 days

Special Youth Activities

Activities and field trips designed to encourage youth to put their faith into action

Family Transformation

Building relationships with parents for long term family transformation

More about our programs

Youth Club

Held at both the Gano and Joy Mission Centers, Youth Clubs are for students aged 11 through 18 years (or at the completion of 12th grade). Each club includes:

  • a relaxing time for youth to bond with peers and leaders through recreation, games, crafts, etc.
  • a Bible study designed to equip students with the basics of the Christian faith and how to apply it to their lives
  • service-related or mission-based activity
  • time of fellowship with our center staff and volunteers
  • a tasty snack or meal to cap off the program

Summer Intern Program

A 4-day program where selected youth who are regular attenders in our weekly youth program serve for 8 hours a day alongside our center staff. The program includes:

  • exposure to and involvement in all ministry programs
  • daily Bible study devotions and prayer with our staff
  • serving alongside Christian college student interns
  • lunch, snacks and refreshments
  • life-on-life discipleship by our staff

Special Youth Activities

We hold several special events and offer activities relating to youth throughout the year:

  • Sewing Club – hands on learning using quality sewing machines taught by committed volunteers
  • Field trips – both for attendance reward days and to give students new experiences
  • “Angels of Light” Christmas program for qualifying families, sponsored by Second Baptist Church, one of our supporting partners.
  • Christmas Store – families of youth at each center who are active in our Youth Clubs are eligible to receive gifts at no cost
  • Free, family-friendly events for our surrounding communities – both centers host events such as block parties, community holiday meals, and movie nights, which include games, bounce houses, music, and food
These gatherings allow us opportunities to share the love of God while getting to know our neighbors better. You can find upcoming community events here.

You can affect the life of a youth by:

  • Volunteering yourself or a group of people to spread Christ’s love and hope to His children
  • Donating to help sponsor our programs – one time, monthly or recurring

Youth are very important to us.

As you can see, students are very important to us at Mission Centers of Houston. Our vision is to see youth from our communities become committed disciples of Jesus Christ with the character described in 1 Timothy 4:12: “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”
Our youth ministry is a direct response to the Bible’s teaching on youth. They are important to our Lord and, when you support the work of Mission Centers of Houston, you are positively affecting the life of a child. We can be here with them because you stand so faithfully with us.

We are grateful for you!
